                  HOW TO CHOOSE A WEDDING CAKE

Cakes mark a social event and often are the pinnacle of any given event, and your wedding should be no different.Choosing the best wedding cake depends on your own likes and dislikes, the wedding theme, and your budget and the following steps would help you choose the best wedding cake for your memorable day.

Plan well in advance.

 If you don't have a firm idea of the kind of cake you'd like, there will need to be time to look around at options, as well as booking the cake creator, allocating the funds, and finding any special decorative elements. So be sure to give yourself plenty of planning time. Be aware that cake makers who are in high demand and are always booked, so don't leave your booking too late. Planning in advance also includes choosing a reputable bakery that has experience with wedding cakes and often updates their portfolio if not it means there is nothing new so its always wise to plan carefully in advance.

 Budget

Set a budget straight from the beginning and be open with your cake decorator. It will make the process much easier and smoother for both parties meaning your budget for the cake is what will determine the type of cake you are going to have.

Visit the bakers that seem to be good choices to you. 

Ask to see their portfolios of cake ideas. Ask them to show you photographs of previous cakes. Don't rush this step take time to compare and contrast the different styles and specialties provided by each baker.

 Choose your baker.

Once you have decided which bakers' creations you like the most, take your ideas along to them and discuss these. Ask about the difficulty, the possibilities, the costs. At this point, you should be able to start getting a good idea of what type of cake you can realistically have, and which of the bakers is most likely to achieve this for you.  Keep working with the baker regularly to improve and adjust your cake ideas. Ask for sample mock ups to help you through the process. Be sure to let your baker know about decoration and design wishes, and if you intend on providing any of the cake decorations, get these to the baker on time.

 Theme of the cake

When meeting your cake decorator for the first time, bring as much information as possible; theme of the wedding, colour of your dress, bridesmaid dress and inspiration from the room and flowers. It will make the selection easier and apart from that it would help in matching the cake to your wedding theme
